The great sand hunt

So guess who played with sand for the first time in his life?

We were taking a walk along the sandy white beach in Bali last week and mister tiny toes got to dip his teensy weensy toes in the soft, warm sand.

It’s so cute to watch them experience something new for the first time because at first, he was really grossed out and he scrunched up his face like he was tasting something weirdish like lemon or spinach.

Then after a few bounces in the sand, he was like “oooh, this feels strangely fun and comforting.”

And a little while later, he was completely sold on the whole sand experience. Like “MOAR SAND! MOAR MOAR SAND!! ME LIKE SAND. IMMA PACK SOME OF THIS STUFF IN MY DIAPER AND THIGHS AND TOES WHERE MOMMA CAN’T SEE IT SO I CAN BRING SOME HOME TO PLAY WITH LATER…”

Which is exactly what he did because after we got back, I got to play a game called The Hunt For Hidden Sand Granules.

Wherein I’m supposed to hunt for hidden sand granules on my baby including but not limited to the following areas: between the digits of his toes, behind his knees, in the folds of his thighs, wrist and neck.

Me no like this game.

not too big 2

Still on the Milk On The Rocks Spring 2013 collection available at Not Too Big, I am so in love with their designs for girls. It’s fun, feminine and oh-so-pretty without losing that classic MOTR edginess. And it’s unbelievably comfy too.

Like this playsuit is Kirsten is wearing? L-O-V-E.

A piece of heaven

Okay, forget everything I said about the first villa being paradise. We just spent the last 2 days in a villa called Karma Kandara and it is so incredibly breathtaking I’m actually out of adjectives for once.

It’s a 4-bedroom cliff-top resort villa overlooking the Indian Ocean and everything about it is perfect.

Private infinity pool, check.

Lush outdoor gazebo + dining area, check.

Unbelievable view, check.

Elegant interiors, check.

Private beach with the finest white sand, check.

Kids club with personalized attention, check.

Safe from creepy crawlies, check.

And the pièce de résistance – a stunning horizon infinity pool where the end meets the sky.

They say a picture paints a thousand words so I’m going to stop talking now and let the pictures do the talking.

And a bonus one of my sister who’s missing from the group shot because she offered to be the photographer and my skills are not high-level enough to photoshop her in.
