We’ve all been nursing a flu over the past couple of days so it’s been a weekend of drippy noses and mopey baby faces.
There were mopey adult faces too but I’m not cruel enough to make you see pictures of those.
When the kids felt better, we brought them out to Ikea for a walk. We’ve been to Ikea many times with the kids but they’ve never been in the kids play area because Kirsten never made the height limit and Truett wouldn’t go in without her.
Solidarity is a big deal around here.
Every time we checked her height, she would say, “I cannot go in, I’m too short.” Tru would offer her helpful advice like “you must stand very straight so you will be taller like me” but no matter how straight she stood, she was still too short.
This time, she stood as straight as she could and even though she still missed by a hair’s breadth, the lady at the counter had compassion on her and let her in.
“I’m taller like a BIG girl now,” she said proudly as she took her brother’s hand and walked in.
Just like that, this baby ain’t mopey no more.

And not forgetting this week’s Hipstamatic Happiness.
Have a great week, you guys!

have a great week too! I never bothered to let the bub try because I thought she’s too young and short.. I thought they only let in 4 y/os and above. But thanks for sharing this news :) Next time we are there we’ll check if she is tall enough to play there haha

Yeah it goes by height. I believe it’s 94cm, they have the height checker outside.
It’s actually quite fun they have a ball pool and slides and a coloring station and tv area where they screen Pixar movies. The kids seemed to love it.
You are making me droooool over an iphone…..>.<
Hahaha I’m evil like that. Actually I’m using the iphone 4 so the resolution is not as good. I hear the 4S has a much better camera, you should totally get that. :)
You are making me droooool over an iphone…..:)
BTW, may i know what do the kid do in that play area? My kids, even if they are tall enough, will never go in without ME…. >.< I keep telling them, only BIG boys and BIG gals go in, Mummy must wait OUTSIDE!!
Oh and parents are not allowed inside, only kids. There’s lots of stuff to keep them occupied – my kids spent most of their time jumping into the ball pool but the bigger kids were doing coloring and art stuff.
I didn’t know there is a height limit, what is it anyway?
The minimum is 94 cm, and there’s a max limit as well but I’m not sure what that is.
Kristen is rather tall to reach that height for her age right? But that also mean she may need to pay if she takes the public transport.
We’ve always thought she was short for her age because Tru used to be taller at her age. And yes she needs a ticket for public transport and movies..
Truett is such a dear dear boy….so sweet and sensitive to his sister’s feelings.
They’re very sticky to each other these days, which I suppose is the good thing about a small age gap. Like they practically do everything together so they’re best friends.
Baby girl looks soooooo cute with pigtails! I’m glad she’s feeling better now! And Tru is such a loyal kor kor.

Ya I really like the pigtails. She didn’t use to let me go near her hair but now she knows it’s pretty so she will sit very still and let me put pins and clips for her.
I’m quite apprehensive about letting my daughter go into the play area as the older kids always seem to be more rowdy. I’m sure parents are not allowed inside right?
Susan´s last post ..The modern mum’s source of strength
The big kids are a little rowdy and the staff don’t really watch the kids that closely so they have to fend for themselves.
I spent the whole time standing outside watching them like a hawk to make sure they didn’t get hurt but they seemed ok. The next round, we’re just going to go for coffee while they play.
Aww that lady is so kind to let her in.. Kirsten is so so cute! Truett is such a model brother! You have such awesome kids! :)

Haha I might have had to beg a little so she probably took pity on me.
Haha, we just did the same thing, again, seriously, so many times of coincidents!!! My pair also just went into the IKEA play thing for the very first time last weekend, or was it the weekend before.
Don’t think it’s 94cm. My gal is a few cms higher than the min height, but I am pretty sure she is not taller than 95cm yet.
Good thing to be able to enter the IKEA play yard. Bad thing is she needs a ticket for a movie at the age of 2 years 2 months old! Okay, we cheated, we didn’t pay for the ticket, but soon.
its 90 cm..my boy was like kirsten slightly off..and there werent a single soul at the smalland and he was not granted entry on safety reasons….if not tall enough cant play safely…blah blah blah…
i reckon the next time i wear thicker sole shoes for my boy..or hope and pray my boy has miraculously cross the requirement.
hence again..will be visiting some theme park at the end of the year in msia…below 90cm is free…so i guess we cant have it all..! so i wish he doesnt appear too tall!
